GDR stamps were for sale in post offices until October 1990. From 2 July 1990 stamps issued in 1964 and later were valid for postage throughout Germany. Stamps inscribed 'DDR' were valid until and including 30 September 1990, while stamps inscribed 'Deutsche Post' were valid until and including 11 December 1991.
