The Christmas 2011 stamp shows a happy family seated around a table and eating biscuits. Christmas decorations, including a tree, garlands, and golden stars, emphasise the festive side and magic of the moment.
The stamp was created by Luxembourg artist Muriel Moritz.
Born in 1976, she received a diploma in Illustration and Comic Strip
Design at the Académie royale des Beaux-Arts in Brussels in 1999. Since
1996, she has forged a solid reputation as an illustrator of children’s
books, school books, and as an exhibitor.
Muriel Moritz runs workshops for children at the Académie d’été de Luxembourg (CEPA) and at Kulturhuef Grevenmacher.
